Service description

Consisting of obtaining the official document to drive motor vehicles within the country, after having demonstrated moral and physical conditions to possess the document, as well as theoretical-practical knowledge of driving and of the legal provisions in force in the country in the matter of land transit. The driver’s license, according to the law, is valid for four (4) years from its issuance.

Requirements

Original Identity and Electoral Card (Cedula).- Not having unpaid traffic fines.- Having made the payment of taxes for services. Pay online through the INTRANT Virtual Office with a credit and or debit card at the place where the service will be carried out or, at the Banco Reserva (Banreservas) .- Present the current Learning Card, after having after 15 days of its issuance (45 days for minors) and not having exceeded six months of its issuance.- In the event that the Learning Card is expired, less than one year from the date of its issuance, You must pay the Apprenticeship Card Renewal and Practical Examination tax. You can make the payment through the virtual office of INTRANT.- Approved practical exam with a minimum score of 75 points.

 

Steps to follow

  1. Appear at the central headquarters or regional offices of the INTRANT Driver License Directorate.
  2. Go through Registration.
  3. Approved practical exam.
  4. Go through photo capture and signature.
  5. Receive document in delivery of license.

Additional Information

If the Practical Exam is not passed, the user may re-examine himself after 16 days and pay the re-examination tax of RD$ 250.00. The hours of the practical exam are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It is worth noting that any employee of INTRANT (Transit Authority) found asking for favors or “bribes” whilst applying for your Dominican Driving License should be reported to the supervisor on staff.
